Mark Wahlberg, shot by the legendary Herb Ritts in 1992 — the campaign, though rebuffed by many (including Wahlberg himself more recently), is arguably the most memorable and referenced ad of the brand's to date.

Aside from the obvious controversial nature of the photos, it's also key to note that this was a revolutionary moment in fashion: the invention of the boxer brief, created by then head menswear designer of the label, John Varvatos.
Like Moss, Christy Turlington appeared in dozens of ads for the brand, spanning decades (from the late '80s to present day).
Oh, Natalia Vodianova, you really can do no wrong. As it was with Moss, the Russian model's launch into super status is often attributed to her first Calvin Klein ads.
Look who it is in Calvin Klein Underwear's A/W '09 campaign: None other than Mrs. Ryan Gosling, a.k.a. Eva Mendes, and Jamie Dornan (the soon-to-be Christian Grey)! Considering his upcoming role, this hyper-sexualized ad feels rather appropriate.
Still crazy for Zoe Saldana's Fall 2010 campaign. Unlike Moss's or Vodianova's, the actress's partnership with the brand happened once she was already established. And, like Bieber's, this campaign is an example of the brand showcasing a celebrity, as opposed to launching one.

And, ladies and gents, here it is: The latest Calvin Klein Underwear campaign, starring bad-boy superstar Justin Bieber. Does it feel up to par with Marky Mark's iconic, albeit controversial, ads? Well, the controversial part definitely seems to match up. But, iconic? That might be pushing it.
