Is Shein's $50 Million Fund To Tackle Clothing Waste A Good Thing

Description

Critics say Shein is merely paying lip service to pressure to address its environmental impact. But the money represents a lifeline for young women and girls whose lives are at risk in one of west Africa’s biggest second-hand fashion markets.
Shein has launched a $50 million fund to address fashion’s waste problem. The OR Foundation is receiving $15 million (£12 million) from Shein in order to tackle the enormous clothing waste problem at the Kantamanto Market in Accra, Ghana.
